Elvis Exhibition Wraps Up Early

Although we have added some exciting pieces to our exhibition in Hove (like the jogging top worn by Elvis in 1976-77 seen above), the support has been fairly mediocre. We've seen a steady stream of people over the last few Saturdays but in general, the interest since our initial launch has been rather disappointing. We've been particularly "miffed" as this has been a free venture.

We sent out 170 personal invitations to all our subscribers living in the radius of 15 miles of the exhibition asking them to attend our special launch night on November 19th. As well as the Elvis items on display, we offered free wine and snacks. Only 7 subscribers showed up to support us! So, a big thank you to those 7 fans, local businesses, friends and family for coming along on the night.

We also distributed 1,500 colour flyers with our latest magazine, with several more thousand being sent to fans and those who've purcased from our online store. We've had press interest (The Argus 23/9/08) and many Elvis websites have carried the story (EPGold.com). And yet, the local Elvis impersonator can still out do us by filling a large venue without much effort or promotion! What's going on?

Already, Simon Cooper is receiving stock for Christmas and so we are planning on condensing the items on show to enable his staff to display their festive gift ideas. Tomorrow (Saturday, October 4th) will be your last chance to see the entire exhibition.
